Choose material and finish for the application.
Material choice affects strength, weight, corrosion resistance, appearance, cost and process. Confirm the final specification against your drawing and application.
Sheet metal
Carbon steel
Practical for brackets, frames, cabinets and general industrial structures. Powder coating or zinc plating can be considered for the environment.
Sheet + CNC
Stainless steel
Used where corrosion resistance, cleanability or appearance matters. Brushing, blasting and powder coating are possible routes.
Lightweight
Aluminum
Useful for weight-sensitive equipment parts and machined components. Brushing or anodizing can be reviewed with the drawing.
Finish selection questions
- Will the part be indoors, outdoors or exposed to chemicals?
- Does the finish need a specific color, texture or gloss?
- Are contact surfaces, threads or tolerances affected by finishing?
- Is the finish primarily functional, cosmetic or both?
Finish availability and thickness should be confirmed for each material, geometry and quantity. We do not treat a generic finish name as a substitute for a project specification.
